"We’re offering a service built on one-to-one relationships, direct contact, and the thorough understanding of our clients and their needs that comes with that."

Provenance will offer private clients insurance for everything from home and motor to aviation, plus commercial cover for their business interests, as well as providing stand-alone commercial insurance.

Provenance has been set up by CEO Jason Connon, who has worked with global insurers for 15 years, most recently as head of sales and distribution for Zurich Private Clients

Connon started his career at Halifax as a product manager, before joining Zurich claims in 2002, and was later promoted to a strategic role supporting the executive team. Then followed two years as their global broker development manager, and three years with ZPC.

Joining Connon are two senior broker partners – Paula Moore, who joins Provenance from Aon, and Rebecca Anson, who previously worked at private clients specialist Gauntlet.

Jason Connon said: “We’re offering a service built on one-to-one relationships, direct contact, and the thorough understanding of our clients and their needs that comes with that. We’re aiming to be the ‘Coutts’ of insurance.

“At a time when the market is all about mergers and acquisitions, resulting in bigger and bigger businesses and networks with the power that brings, it might seem to be flying in the face of industry trends to be doing what we’re doing.

“But in fact that makes it the perfect time to launch a boutique offering like Provenance to fill the gap that’s being left by continued consolidation. We don’t have the pressures and challenges that can come with a large multi-stakeholder business, and we’re free from public shareholder or external investor and banking finance pressures and influence, meaning we can make truly independent choices for the customer based on quality and value.

“Our private and commercial clients are looking for something different and we are offering that.”
