Two Lending Officers – Amanda Howe and Ella-Louise Smith – have been recruited, along with Mark Valmont as a Quality Control Officer and Mark Palmer as a Lending Manager for the Portfolio team.

Howe and Smith will provide case management support to the Lending Managers in their respective teams, liaising with Shawbrook’s broker and valuation panels in order to deliver positive outcomes for borrowers.

Valmont’s appointment bolsters the existing Quality Control team, with this additional resource dedicated to processing cases to completion with maximum accuracy. These checks and processes are vital, ensuring that funds are released and post-completion services are carried out efficiently for both brokers and their clients.

New Lending Manager Mark Palmer joins after working as a Mortgage Advisor for three years, before a five year spell as a Mortgage Supervisor at the Yorkshire Building Society in Central London. Palmer’s expertise will be of significant value to the Portfolio Team, where he will be responsible for overseeing cases with repeat Shawbrook clients. There is a central focus in this team on the efficiencies required to look after clients with an established working relationship with the Bank, in order to grow their business in conjunction with their Broker Partner.

Commenting on his new role, Palmer said:

“Shawbrook was recommended by a friend and colleague during my time at the Yorkshire Building Society, who now works in the Specialist Residential team here at Shawbrook.

“Having learned about the Bank’s vision and its history of delivering a service-driven, case-by-case approach to Commercial lending, I knew that this was the place where I wanted to work. As someone who has been in the mortgage industry for a number of years, I love the bespoke approach to lending where applications are dealt with on a common sense basis. It’s a much more enjoyable way to work and takes into account the individual circumstances of brokers’ clients, rather than the production line “computer says no” approach.”

Karen Bennett, Sales & Marketing Director for Shawbrook Commercial remarked:

“On behalf of the entire Commercial team, we’re very pleased to welcome aboard our new colleagues.

“With fresh faces joining the Quality Control and Lending Teams, we are investing into the future of the Commercial division whilst simultaneously expanding the resource available to our brokers’ clients with immediate effect. Each employee has been chosen for their experience and suitability for their respective roles, and we are confident that these new starters will deliver the level of personal, progressive service to our Broker Partners which Shawbrook is renowned for.”
